Fair Treatment of Israel in Product Labeling Act

Introduction:

To allow for additional markings, including the words `Israel' and `Product in Israel', to be used for country of origin marking requirements for goods made in the geographical areas known as the West Bank and Gaza Strip for international purposes


1. This bill requires that, for goods produced or originating in the areas known as the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, proper markings for country of origin include: (1) Israel, (2) Product of Israel, (3) Made in Israel, (4) West Bank, (5) Gaza, (6) Gaza Strip, (7) West Bank/Gaza, or (8) West Bank/Gaza Strip.

Neither the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, nor any competent official of another federal department or agency shall prohibit the use of any such markings for purposes of country of origin marking requirements.

Law Enactment:

The Law shall be enacted and in force once the Knesset as passed the law and upon the Presidents signature.

Madam Speaker,

Today I rise to bring this bill in the forefront in fighting those who would ruin this country economically through an anti-Semitic campaign called BDS or Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement. This movement though founded in only two years ago is a threat to our national security and as a country we must be prepared to respond in kind. The government will therefore from now on have all products produced in Israel have an Israeli made seal, whether or not they where produced in Israel proper. Judea and Samaria belong to the Jewish people and it is far time that economic goods represent Israeli control of the region.

I would like to point out the fact both the Labor Party and Kadima Party are failing to perform their legislation duties and therefore by the powers invested in me by the Knesset Standing Orders, I threaten to name the Leader of the Opposition and Leader of the Kadima Party if they do not perform their duty.

Madam Speaker, I see no problem with this Bill. Many countries and the European community already have such labelling on their products. I see no reason not to support this.

Since there is no opposition I move that a vote be held on this bill.

Madame Speaker, Kadima finds this bill reasonable and find no reason to oppose it's implementation.
